A Day in the Life

I want to keep my lovely followers in the loop, so I’ve decided to do more frequent posts on this page! This means that not every post will be perfect, but I’ve come to terms with that. You know what they say… practice makes perfect!

So- onwards and upwards…

I’ve had a lot of questions lately about what I like to do on a regular day, so I decided to deticate a post to just that.

I bartend nights, so I’m not a morning person at all. In all honesty, I would love to be, but with my current lifestyle, it’s a no go for now. This beautiful morning, I rolled out of bed at around 10:30 and started my day with a very simple and quick breakfast…

My favorite breakfasts lately seem to always include some sort of green, and a simple protein. When I’m feeling motivated, I’ll go for a tofu and veggie scramble but today I opted for plain scrambled eggs and spinach salad.

Not long after breakfast (or should I say brunch…) I packed my bags and Chad & I left for our little adventure. We decided to head out towards Hana because the weather was absolutely perfect and I wanted a little change of scenery.

My favorite part of my little escapades these days is the drive. It brings me a sort of peace of mind, and always gives me time to think and appreciate the beauty around me.

I always have to stop and smell the flowers along the way, makes it impossible for me to get anywhere in a timely fashion.

I frequently stop by the old surfboard fence in Haiku because the tropical vibe it brings is unmatched.

One of my all time favorite stops along the Road To Hana is the little rainbow eucalyptus grove tucked beside the road. The energy around these trees is just incredible, so I like to soak it up as often as possible.

Turns out my Segra Soul body suit matched the trees perfectly.

The road itself and the beautiful view never fails to take my breath away…
I have a few favorite waterfalls on this beautiful island, and our next stop was one of them.

The water is just gorgeous, and pretty chilly as well, which was just perfect because today was a scortcher!

Coconut Glens was our next stop. There’s nothing like a cup of coconut ice cream on a hot day. They are great for so many reasons, but their assortment of over 40 flavors always brings me back in the hopes of trying something new.

After a quick stop at Hana Ranch restaurant and store for burgers and beer, we made it to Koki beach just in time for sunset.

Another beautiful day for the books folks. After a long drive home, I’m now sitting in a hot bath, writing this little post for you guys to enjoy and critic. Feel free to ask me any questions, and as always, I would love to hear any and all suggestions for future posts!

Don’t mind the outfit changes its part of the fun when you promote multiple companies! ❤

Hey lovers

Unfortunately I haven’t kept this page as active as I originally planned…

As always, I’m so interested to hear your opinions on what I should post!

Please feel free to comment your thoughts, and I’ll get something up by the end of the week!

Hana Staycation

It’s been a while since my last post so I figured it was about time for a little update.
As I’m sure most of you know, I live on Maui. I work on the South side of the island, live on the North shore, and spend most of my time somewhere in between. Maui is fairly small, you could drive around the entire island in one day. Coming from California (where you can drive in almost any direction for hours and hours) I tend to get island fever quite often.

My ideal getaway is Hana, a little town on the other side of the island. It takes about 2-3 hours to get there (depending on how you drive). The drive itself really is my favorite part of the whole ordeal. I’ve discovered some stunning hidden waterfalls along the way, and of course there’s always the old favorites like Coconut Glens Ice Cream and Hana farms fresh baked farm to table pizza for some tasty road fuel.

Last week, I had some of my closest friends, Michaela & Katie, visiting from California, so we decided to take the weekend and make the trip. Although it was overcast and drizzling, Hana’s beauty was still jaw dropping. Here’s a little taste of our experience!

As I mentioned before, Hana highway has tons of beautiful hidden gems…Our first stop was about halfway to Hana; This little waterfall is one of my favorites…

No harm in a quick waterfall beverage (Suerte Tequila) with some fresh picked guava and only the scent of wild ginger in the air!

Next we hit up my all time favorite ice cream stand: Coconut Glens

With their delicious array of over 10 (everchanging) flavors, it’s always difficult to choose just one! I went for Vanilla bean, and the girls chose the original Coconut (with flakes of toasted coconut) and both flavors were to die for.

Next we stopped at Wainapanapa State Park, for a dip in the caves.  Absolutely something I would recommend taking the time for, just the scenic lookout alone is worth the stop.

After that refreshing dip, it was time to check into our hotel. Generally I camp when I visit Hana, but it was Michaelas birthday so we decided to live the life of luxury and get a suite at the Travaasa Hana. The room was gorgeous, but our favorite part of the resort was the pool. The view was just perfect.

After admittedly too much wine and an evening full of laughter and night swimming… we hit the hay.

We woke up to fresh banana bread and coffee, followed by some incredible sparkling Maui Wine birthday rose, and right back to the pool for a little more R&R.

When we checked out of the hotel, we decided to pay a visit to one the most special places on island… Red Sand Beach.

After Red Sands, we were tuckered out, so we made our slow but steady trip back home. Hana never disappoints! Absolutely always worth the trip!

Jar-ingly delicious

Alrighty kids! You’re constantly asking me about my diet, so I decided to do a quick post about my all time favorite meal. It’s so simple but I could seriously eat it for every single meal…

Layered jar lunches are THE BEST. Easy to make, delicious and great for meal prepping.

My favorite is this baby right here…

I like to start me jar lunch with my favorite grain. I almost always choose quinoa but today I’m going with brown rice.  I also found this sprouted rice and quinoa blend at Costco, and I’m a huge fan of that as well!

Next I layer on as much spinach as I can fit (usually about 3 handfuls).

After that, I like to add a lean protein. Sometimes I’ll use tofu, but ground turkey is my absolute favorite. I just cook in a large pan with minimal spices, sometimes a little salt and pepper and a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Last but not least, I love to add as many veggies as possible. Zuccini noodles are life, but unfortunately I’ve devoured all my zuccini so I don’t have any on hand today. So instead I’ll add some delicious fresh avo. Just take a gander at how yummy and creamy it looks!

And for the icing on the “cake” I like to top it all off with my favorite salad dressing of all time: Annie’s ShitakeSesame vinaigrette. I’ve been obsessed with this dressing for as long as I can remember. It’s also great as a marinade for chicken! Remember, when it comes to dressing, use sparingly because it really is a guilty pleasure.

Well that’s about it! If you try out my silly little recipe, let me know how you like it! And if you change it up for the better, I would love to hear any variations you might have! ❤️

Maxi skirts are my jam

Building your own style is so difficult, especially these days. Brands are constantly trying to sell me things, but just because it looks great on one specific model, doesn’t always mean it will be flattering on me.

In the past, I have spent so much time trying to find inspiration via other bloggers. After years of getting to know myself, I’ve finally built a style that is all my own.

People often ask me where how and why I choose to put the pieces together the way that I do, and the answer is… Comfort. Seriously. That’s my main motivation when I’m putting together an outfit.

No-I don’t wear sweats and sports bras every day (everyone has their own option of comfort I suppose) but I adore anything that is as little maintainence as possible while still looking FAB.

Which brings me to the point of this post… My favorite, staple outfit. Give me a maxi skirt and a crop top (or body suit) and I’m a happy camper!

First up we have a beachy combo of two of my absolute favorite brands. This gorgeous wrap skirt is by Tysa Designs (I have this baby in at least 5 colors because it is so incredible and SO versatile) and crochet top is by Elegant crochets  (I’m a sucker for anything crochet). All of these crochet tops are handmade, and you can just feel the love she loops right in.

Second up we have an effortlessly beautiful every day outfit. This beautiful skirt is by an obvious favorite brand of mine: Spell & The Gypsy. Spell continues to blow me away with their STUNNING hand drawn prints, and lusciously soft fabrics. The crop top I’ve picked is by Free People, a brand which I will always love.

TIP: I totally understand that not everyone lives in Hawaii, SO hunt down an amazing thrift store and get yourself a good vintage jacket to throw on over your favorite pieces. The beautiful rust goodness (AKA the jacket of my dreams) in the photo above is a little something that I picked up at Ooh La Loft.

My third outfit is a magical combo of a vintage maxi that I picked up at a thrift shop, and my favorite crochet top by Elegant Crochets. The cappuccino color of this baby just goes with everything in my closet so it’s an easy go to. As I’ve said before, I could wear a crochet crop top every single day if it was socially acceptable!

The above outfit is a little bit sexy, which is what makes it so good. I’ve paired yet another vintage maxi skirt with a gorgeous off the shoulder top by Mary Grace Swim

And speaking of sexy… Here’s a sweet combo perfect for a night out. I’ve paired another gorgeous printed wrap skirt from Tysa Designs with a ultra sleek lace up body suit from Ooh La Loft. I love this body suit because it can be paired with just about anything to give your outfit a feisty vibe.

Last but most certainly not least… My favorite outfit of the day… Another gorgeous Spell & The Gypsy maxi paired with the perfect Dazey LA tee. This skirt is just pure bliss, with the flowy fabric and bright floral print, and this tee is the ideal basic because it’s super soft and fits just so.

Jewelry details: all bangles and rings are by Mac Designs and large turquoise choker is from Bella & Chloe.

Ultimately-wear what makes you comfortable! The better you feel, the better you’ll look!
