Hana Staycation

It’s been a while since my last post so I figured it was about time for a little update.  As I’m sure most of you know, I live on Maui. I work on the South side of the island, live on the North shore, and spend most of my time somewhere in between. Maui is fairly small, you could drive around the entire island in one day. Coming from California (where you can drive in almost any direction for hours and hours) I tend to get island fever quite often.  My ideal getaway is Hana, a little town on the other side of the island. It takes about 2-3 hours to get there (depending on how you drive). The drive itself really is my favorite part of the whole ordeal. I’ve discovered some stunning hidden waterfalls along the way, and of course there’s always the old favorites like Coconut Glens Ice Cream and Hana farms fresh baked farm to table pizza for some tasty road fuel.  Last week, I had some of my closest friends, …

Jar-ingly delicious

Alrighty kids! You’re constantly asking me about my diet, so I decided to do a quick post about my all time favorite meal. It’s so simple but I could seriously eat it for every single meal… Layered jar lunches are THE BEST. Easy to make, delicious and great for meal prepping.  My favorite is this baby right here… I like to start me jar lunch with my favorite grain. I almost always choose quinoa but today I’m going with brown rice.  I also found this sprouted rice and quinoa blend at Costco, and I’m a huge fan of that as well!  Next I layer on as much spinach as I can fit (usually about 3 handfuls).  After that, I like to add a lean protein. Sometimes I’ll use tofu, but ground turkey is my absolute favorite. I just cook in a large pan with minimal spices, sometimes a little salt and pepper and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Last but not least, I love to add as many veggies as possible. Zuccini noodles are life, …

Maxi skirts are my jam

Building your own style is so difficult, especially these days. Brands are constantly trying to sell me things, but just because it looks great on one specific model, doesn’t always mean it will be flattering on me.  In the past, I have spent so much time trying to find inspiration via other bloggers. After years of getting to know myself, I’ve finally built a style that is all my own.  People often ask me where how and why I choose to put the pieces together the way that I do, and the answer is… Comfort. Seriously. That’s my main motivation when I’m putting together an outfit.  No-I don’t wear sweats and sports bras every day (everyone has their own option of comfort I suppose) but I adore anything that is as little maintainence as possible while still looking FAB.  Which brings me to the point of this post… My favorite, staple outfit. Give me a maxi skirt and a crop top (or body suit) and I’m a happy camper!  First up we have a beachy …

Dome Sweet Dome❤️

I am constantly being asked about my home in Northern California, so I decided to dedicate a post to just that… Below is the first view you see as you when you arrive…my little home nestled in the redwoods. My parents built this beauty by hand with the ever so generous help of their friends and family almost 30 years ago. Up until I was about 6 years old, the house was just the dome (a 3 story home with kitchen on the bottom level, a little living space on the second, and a large loft at the top).  Eventually my folks decided we might need a little more space and hired a few neighbors to build an additional living space on to the side of the dome. That is what you see in the left hand side of the top photo.  The inside of dome has the most amazing view out of these large windows. I often like to sit, and gaze out over the valley while drinking a hot cup of coffee.  You …

Retro Montce Swim bikini 🌻

Beyond stoked on this set! I have never rocked a high waisted bikini before but this one goes above and beyond… Ultra comfortable push-up style top makes this baby SUPER flattering.  And of course like every other bottom by this epic brand, they perfectly complement your booty with their Brazilian cut.  Montce Swim continues to stun me with such original & gorgeous cuts and prints. All in all, I’m a huge fan!  Photos by Chad McCord   📸

ORR Hot Springs

A few weeks ago two of my girlfriends, Simone, Hannah and I enjoyed Orr Hot Springs together. I’ve lived right next to the springs my entire life, and yet this was my very first time. Let me tell you, it was absolutely incredible! We also had to reek some havoc as per usual, the communal carts were perfect for that…  There’s multiple pools, so naturally we had to try them all… We started our day in the hottest pool (about 107 degrees) and graduated to free standing private bathtubs that have been scattered among the hot pools, and are filled with warm water. Last but not least we enjoyed the sauna & the cold pool which was a bit off a shock, but felt amazing getting our sweat on in the sauna.  The springs also has great little cabins if you plan on staying the night, and a communal kitchen fully set up with everything you need for meals. Hannah planned ahead like a boss, and brought us some delicious fresh smoked salmon, strawberries, kale and …
